The winding up of 5SC was triggered by the retirement of Alastair Robertson as Chairman of the company in 2011. This also coincided with substantial offers being made to Directors Rodney Amster by the water industry in Namibia and to Alan McDonald by Petrofac in Houston and Aberdeen. Huw Kyffin continued to work with Alastair on prospective joint venture projects in Colombia but at the same time had become involved with teaching commitments in the UK in his main discipline of mathematics. Alastair continues as Director of Professional Practice at the prestigious Architectural Association in London and also has a consultancy role in town planning, one of his main professional areas of expertise.
